Right now the RATES are $90.47 for Family Rooms (3-4 people) Which have a Queen Bed and 2 Twins and a fold up Twin if necessary,

$79.57 for Couples, 2 People,  Regular Rooms have a Queen and Twin or just a Queen,  &

 $59.95 for a single individual.  These rates includes the 9% sales tax.   

 Call  570.679.2100 if you need an immediate answer for making reservations.  Or you can use my free reservation service at the right side of the website from Webervations & book the room(s).   I try to get to check out the reservations made online once or twice a day usually in the evening for sure.  For the times that I am close to being filled up I check more often.  If you are making reservations & you are reading a higher rate than listed here, then you are using a reservation service I have joined up with.  You are booking thru a travel agency (Expedia, Priceline, etc)  and they get a fee so I can be on their sites and also charge a booking  & cancellation fee when you use their system to make reservations.  Please understand that some of those travel agencies--Hotels.com to use as an example-- just give you the base price  and do not add the 9% sales tax or the booking fee to the final cost expecting that you read the fine print when you clicked the "I agree" button in the process of making the reservation & know that to be the case.    You can always call me here at 570.679.2100 and SAVE that extra $25/30 a night you would spend going thru the travel agency.   This is actually that rare time where it is cheaper NOT to book the motel and the plane ride/car rental at the same time.   Don't worry about late night calls.  I sleep in the office.   My CANCELLATION POLICY is simple.  If I get a cancellation up to a day before your arrival by noon then there are no penalties. This means you let me know by Thursday Noon for a Friday arrival.  After that it is a question of whether I can rent the room in time to recoop my money.  I may charge for 1 night stay or just a smaller set amount (say $25.00) or nothing at all--my choice depending on conditions, weather & so on.   As regards for conditions at ELK MTN. during the winter, as long as ELK is open I consider skiing to be OK.  You may call the hotline for the snowmobile club for trail conditions at 570.448.1766 which I am told is updated regularly.

DIRECTIONS-- BECAUSE OF ALL THE CONSTRUCTION ON ROUTE 81 WHICH IS AT ITS WORST DURING THE SUMMER WE RECOMMEND THE ALTERNATIVE NORTH AND SOUTH ROUTES LISTED BELOW BE USED INSTEAD OF WHAT FOLLOWS HERE FOR THE SUMMER .  Take EXIT 206 off I-81 then Rt 374 EAST to Rt. 171 NORTH.  We are on Rt 171 on the left hand side (about 15 miles from I-81). Some of the signs got knocked down in the recent storms. Turn left when you get to PA 106 to STAY on Pa 374 EAST.    When near Scranton,  910 AM/103.1FM on the hour has traffic if you are lucky.

TAKE THIS ROUTE INSTEAD TO SAVE TIME DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON ROUTE 81:  An ALTERNATIVE route from the SOUTH which is a little faster and less milage is to get off from I-81 around mile/EXIT 187  by getting on US RT 6 EAST to CARBONDALE, then getting OFF US Rt 6 at EXIT 6 (make left), follow signs on Bus 6 EAST (right turn at light) to Rt 171 (left after the Gulf Station) and STAY on Rt 171 NORTH for 15 miles and the VACATION INN is on the left. This is for those coming up Rt 380 & 84.  Follow signs to Route 6 East. You may have to get on I-81 North for a mile.  This is actually the most direct straight line path to the Motel from I-81 and least hilly, & better plowed in the winter.... 

If you want to avoid a lot of the construction when coming from the SOUTH on I-81 entirely, then get on the PA TURNPIKE NORTH at exit 175 (off I-81) and go NORTH on the TURNPIKE to the end--Exit 131 and take BUS. Rt 6 EAST to Rt 171 NORTH. At the present time we recommend those coming north up I-81 actually get on the PA Turnpike at mile 175  (and if coming up on the turnpike to stay on it) and spend the extra $.70 cents (twice) to go to the end of the Turnpike and then get on Bus Rt 6 East to PA Rt 171 North.  You will see the sign for RT 171 North after the Gulf station in Carbondale.

TAKE THIS ROUTE INSTEAD TO SAVE TIME DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON ROUTE 81:   An ALTERNATIVE route coming from the NORTH is to get off I-81 at EXIT 230 (first exit in PA) AND TAKE Rt 171 SOUTH (left turn at end of off ramp) for 25 miles to the VACATION INN which is on the right.  This is less hilly than coming from Exit 206 and with the entire length of I-81 in the county under some sort of construction usually, this is really the best way right now.

From New England/I-88 Get off at EXIT 6 (mile 16) and TAKE NY 79 SOUTH to PA which becomes PA 92 South to Susquehanna  and there TAKE RT 171 SOUTH to VACATION INN.

If taking I-84 from New England, New York or northern N.J. then you have  to take  ROUTE US 6 EAST to Carbondale & may go NORTH up I-81  for a mile as I-84/380 ends right where all three roads meet.
